OK, so i had an allergic reaction to something i ate and now i have hives on my hands and feet. AND im supposed to get a pedicure tomorrow. Is there a homemade remedy to get rid of it or just bring the swelling down…STAT!!!???

My 18 month old son broke out in hives a few months ago. His doctor said it was most likely an allergy but she wasn’t too concerned about finding out the cause because the rash wasn’t bothering him (he didn’t even itch). The hives went away but have returned over the last few days. They still don’t bother him but I am curious as to what is causing it in case it is something that I can change. All I can think of is that it is either an allergy to mosquito bites or due to teething as he has been teething both times that the hives have broken out but I don’t know if either of those could result in hives. Does anyone have any other ideas as to what could cause it? He doesn’t eat much sugar and it isn’t the laundry detergent causing it.

asked if any new soaps, such as laundry, dish, shower, etc. Also, doc asked about any new foods I’ve eaten, but no. But yes to a new laundry soap, also a new dish soap, and a different shower soap. Anyone have simmaler reactions to new cleaning products? Please help!

My son was prescribed zithromax for pnemonia 3 days ago. After 2 doses, he begain to get a rash on his legs. I gave him benedryl and put him to bed . When he woke up this morning, he had hives all over his body. We went back to the doctor, and he recommended continuing the zithromax and adding prednisolone (steroids) and atarax (for itching). I would appreciate if a medical professional could explain the rationale for this action- as opposed to just changing the antibiotic. Thank you!
BTW, the pneumonia symptoms are improving

I’ve been paying more attention to the treatment of animals in farms and slaughterhouses, and it’s really causes me to lose my appetite for meat. That said, my last foray into vegetarianism failed miserably.

You see, most vegetables make me feel ill in some way, and the rest don’t seem to taste pleasant at all, with the exception of carrots, peas, corn, beans, lettuce and cabbage.
Peppers, onions, beets, pickles and cucumbers make me violently ill, so a LOT of vegetarian recipes are rendered impossible, especially with my allergy to soy(I break out in hives and feel pretty awful for a while afterwards).
Thus, I’m more of a fruit guy(with the exception of starfruit, grapefruit, cantelope and tomatoes), but I don’t come across many cookbooks dealing with lunch and dinner recipes involving mainly the food of my choice.
Am I seriously doomed to be malnourished and be dependent on vitamins(and killing my immune system at the same time?) to compensate for my lack of dairy, meat, and veg?

I have been suffering with hives since last January I also have swelling of my lips and eyes. I have been to a specialist who says I am not allergic to any thing that he can find. I feel flushed alot have itchy hands and sometimes suffer from extreme anal itch. My bowel movements have increased and I have acid reflux sometimes. I have gained a few extra pounds and my breathing seems heavy at times. I am constantly tired and I stay hot. I have been to the doctor and the emergency room numerous times and all they do is prescribe me with short term steroids and a allergy medication similar to benadryl. I feel as though I am going crazy, I cannot find a specific pattern with my sweling or hives or a specific culprit. My insides seem to burn alot but this could be nerves because of frustration with my problem. HELP I am going crazy people should not have to live like this although their doctors tell them they have to.

I was told to try this as a remedy for hives. Im not sure if it will workor if its an old wives tale. Ive had hives for 4 months. Seen numerous drs, have been tested for everything and then some to no avail. The meds they gave me knock me out and only bring temporary relief. ever since i came back from a one week summer camp a few weeks ago, I’ve been breaking out in hives almost every day! I read on the internet that Diphenhydramine works for treatment, I’ve been using Benadryl gel, it gets rid of my hives but they keep on coming back the next day! My hives often come up on my face, around my cheeks, nose, and eyebrows. My diet hasn’t been effected at all, and I didn’t switch to some product. My dad is convinced its my makeup, which doesn’t explain why I have hives on my cheeks because I didn’t put foundation on today. Help me!
